Cookie policy
One cookie for signing in, a few things kept in your browser so the site works the way you asked, and optional visit counting that uses no cookies.
Draft for review, 2 November 2026. This page describes what the site and app do today. It has not yet been approved by Phill McComb or checked by a lawyer, and it may change before launch.
What is kept, and why
“Strictly necessary” items are needed for something you asked for, such as signing in or keeping your answers, so the law does not need your consent for them. Optional items stay off unless you allow them.
| Name | Kind | What it is for | How long | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ea_s | Cookie | Keeps you signed in. Only set when you sign in, or when a leader connects a TV. | 14 days (a TV: 14 hours) | Strictly necessary |
| ea-consent | Browser storage | Remembers your choice in the cookie banner. | Until you change it or clear your browser | Strictly necessary |
| ea-theme | Browser storage | Remembers light or dark mode, if you use the switch. | Until you change it or clear your browser | Strictly necessary (you asked for it) |
| ea-try-s1 | Browser storage | Your answers on the free Try Session 1 page. | Until you clear it | Strictly necessary (you asked for it) |
| every-altitude-s1 and every-altitude-web-s1 | Browser storage | Your answers, notes, highlights and progress in the app and the study online, and a leader’s planner notes. One copy for each account on that device. | Until you clear it | Strictly necessary (you asked for it) |
| ea-leader | Browser storage | Leaders only: a copy of the leader material, so a leader can prepare without signal. | Until you clear it | Strictly necessary (you asked for it) |
| ea-v4 | Offline copy (cache) | Pages and pictures kept so the app opens without signal. | Until the next update or you clear it | Strictly necessary |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Visit counting, no cookies | Counts page visits without cookies and without identifying you. Only loaded if you allow visit counting. | Nothing kept on your device | Optional: off unless you allow it |
Changing your choice
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to allow or stop visit counting at any time. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes everything above from that device; Delete my data does the same for Every Altitude’s own items.
